Im not saying my story is correct, but i heard its something like this.
During the American Civil War (?) one side use to mark the number of deaths like so – 6 Killed / 2 Killed / 0 Killed. So it became easier to put 6 K / 2 K Or 0 K. So, literally OK (or Zero Killed) signifies that its alright.
