A car resembling new Indica V3 spotted at BIA
I saw this car at the new Bangalore Airport (BIA) on Saturday, Aug 2. It looks very similar to the new Indica V3 showcased at Auto Expo in Jan 2008, in the picture below.

I decided against inspecting the car from right in front as I feared the driver might think I am maniac. So I sneaked behind for a closer look. I couldn’t see anything written at least at the back. I saw it has Maharashtra registration.
Is it possible that Tata Motors is doing a road test as far as Bangalore from Pune? If that is not the Indica V3, what car is it?
The registration number plate background colour looks like it’s red. What kind of vehicle in India has plate with red background? I search and found:
The President of India and state governors travel in official cars without licence plates. Instead they have the Emblem of India in gold embossed on a red plate.
It can’t be The President’s or The Governor’s car! And I clearly saw the registration number starts with MH which is for the state of Maharashtra.
Per Tata Motors website, there are four generations of Indica:
Indica V2
Indica V2 Xeta
Indica V2 Turbo
Indica V2 DiCOR
As far my research goes, the new Indica is still “will be launched shortly“, later this year.
Tata Motors net profit fell 30% and the company is counting on the upcoming Nano, new Indica and Xenon.

Red plate may mean temporary registration.
