Mumbai, January 30 When footballer from Mizoram, Malsawmtlunga Syhlo (Mama) is in Goa – his home away from home – he likes to hang on to his guitar strings for support. This 24-year-old diminutive attacking medio firmly believes that music is the food of the Mizo people and playing Bon Jovi’s Bed of Roses with his Mizo friends is truly a rejuvenating experience.
Is Mama a Mara? (Not that it matters)
One of the most successful football players among Maras and possibly Mizos as a whole, Malsawmtluanga Syhlo aka Mama told Laxmi Negi of Indian Express newspaper “Music is the food of Mizo people”.
@Laxmi Negi: Nice title! However, get the spelling right. It is Malsawmtluanga!
I wonder how Mama could agree to wear a jersey with his name spelled wrong – Malsawmtulunga! For a club like East Bengal, it wouldn’t cost them more them more than a penny to get a new jersey with the right spelling?
