Mizo slang among the youth
A friend of mine who is an Assistant Editor for a renowned National Magazine has asked me to write a short article about the slang that the youth of Mizoram use today (words derived from English or other languages), which might be published in the magazine if the content is interesting enough.

Please do contribute whatever you know, in case I have missed out on any, and this post will be updated with your contribution and due credits given to you of course.

Deportation drive causes Assam divide

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Guwahati, July 29: The ongoing drive to deport suspected illegal migrants in frontier States of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Mizoram threatens to snowball into a major controversy creating a communal divide between the majority and minority communities in Assam.

The situation has started taking ugly turn with reports of clash between the two groups in Kalaigaon area on Saturday after a bus carrying suspected Bangladeshis, mostly women and children, deported from Arunachal Pradesh, arrived. The Aasu, ABSU and BJP activists intercepted the bus and wanted their identification before they are allowed to settle in village areas. Some miscreants also pelted stones on the bus carrying people from Arunchal Pradesh.
